What we are talking about here is different: video calls stutter in the living room, pages load slowly in the kitchen, and streaming buffers no matter where you sit. That points to the connection itself or the equipment handling it, not a dead zone.
What is usually behind it
A router that is five or more years old is a common culprit. Internet speeds and the number of connected devices have both grown a lot in that time, and older equipment simply cannot keep up, even if your internet plan itself is fine. Too many devices sharing the connection at once, security cameras, streaming boxes, tablets, and phones, can also slow things down for everyone.
The other possibility is the service coming into your home itself: an outage, a plan that is genuinely too slow for how your household uses the internet now, or a signal issue on the provider side that has nothing to do with your equipment at all.
How we test it
We run speed tests at multiple points in the home and compare them against what you are paying your provider for, since a mismatch there tells us a lot. We also check how many devices are connected and what they are doing, and look at the router itself, its age, its settings, and whether it needs a restart, an update, or a replacement.
