What a visit actually covers
We come to your parent's home and work at their pace on whatever is giving them trouble, whether that is a slow computer, a phone they never learned to use fully, video calling family, or printing something for a doctor's appointment. Nothing is rushed, and we are glad to explain the same thing twice if that is what it takes to feel comfortable.
If you would like, we can also set your parent up on a repeat visit schedule, so there is a familiar face checking in every so often rather than only calling us once something has already broken.
Keeping your parent safe from scams
A large part of what we do with older clients is quietly building up their scam awareness alongside whatever technical task brought us there. We point out the warning signs of the fake tech support pop-up, the phone call pretending to be from a bank, and the email asking for account details, in plain language and without making them feel foolish for asking.
- A phone number they trust to call before acting on anything suspicious
- The warning signs of common scams, explained without jargon
- Settings adjusted to block as many junk calls and pop-ups as reasonably possible
- A reminder that we never ask for a password over the phone unannounced
Staying informed from out of town, with their permission
With your parent's consent, we are glad to give you a short summary after each visit: what we found, what we fixed, and anything worth keeping an eye on, sent to you directly so you are not relying only on your parent's memory of the visit. We only ever share this with their agreement, since it is their home and their information.
Call (615) 852-5565 Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM to set up a first visit, whether you are calling on your parent's behalf or having them call us directly.
