The everyday things we help with most
Most visits are not about anything broken. They are about getting comfortable with email, seeing photos the grandkids sent, or figuring out why a video call with family keeps not connecting. We explain each step in plain words and write down anything worth remembering, in your own words, so it makes sense later.
If the phone or tablet just feels too small to read, or the settings menu is overwhelming, we can turn on larger text, simplify the layout, and remove icons and apps you never use, so what is left actually makes sense to look at.
- Setting up or troubleshooting email
- Finding and sharing photos with family
- Getting video calls like FaceTime or Zoom working reliably
- Making text bigger and screens simpler to read
Keeping you safe from scams
A lot of our calls start after a scary pop-up, an unexpected phone call claiming to be from a computer company, or a suspicious email asking for money or a password. We check the device for anything that got installed, help you recognize the warning signs next time, and never make you feel foolish for calling.
- A pop-up claimed your computer had a virus and gave you a number to call
- Someone called claiming to be tech support and asked for remote access
- An email or text asked you to click a link or send a gift card
- You just want a second opinion before you trust something online
Family can be part of the visit
With your permission, we are glad to loop in an adult child or family member, whether they are in the next room or across the country on speakerphone. That way everyone hears the same explanation and knows who to call if something comes up later.
