Setting up your Apple Account and Wi-Fi
The very first screens on a new iPad ask for things that trip people up: an Apple Account email and password, a Wi-Fi network name, and permissions you are not sure whether to allow. We get all of this sorted properly at the start, since a shaky foundation here is what causes headaches with photos and apps later on.
If you already have an Apple Account from a phone or an older device, we make sure the new iPad signs into the same one, so your photos, contacts, and purchased apps line up instead of living in two separate places.
Moving your photos and apps over
If you are coming from an older iPad, an iPhone, or in some cases an Android tablet, your photos and the apps you actually use do not need to be redone by hand. We move them over and check the result with you, confirming your photo albums came across and the apps you rely on, like email, banking, or a favorite game, are installed and signed in correctly.
- Your Apple Account signed in and confirmed working
- Wi-Fi connected and saved for home
- Photos and albums transferred and visible on the new iPad
- The apps you use daily reinstalled and signed in
Larger text and settings that make it easier to use
An iPad can display text much larger and bolder than it comes set to out of the box, along with brighter contrast and a slower, steadier way of scrolling through the screen. We adjust these settings together during the visit so reading email, news, or photos is comfortable from the first day, not something you have to hunt for later.
A patient, one-on-one lesson
Once the setup is done, we do not just hand it over. We walk through the basics with you: using the on-screen keyboard, finding and opening apps, taking a photo, and video calling family. Questions are welcome and we are glad to repeat anything as many times as it takes. Call (615) 852-5565 Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM to schedule a visit.
