Why scanning is often the part that never got set up

Printing usually works out of the box, but scanning to email or to a folder on your computer needs a few extra settings entered correctly: your email server details, or the exact folder and computer name it should save to. Those settings are easy to get wrong on your own, and one small mistake means the "scan" button on the printer just does nothing, or fails silently with no clear reason why.

We set this up properly the first time, testing an actual scan through to your email or folder before we consider the job done, so you know it works rather than hoping it does.

Setting up scan-to-email and scan-to-folder

Depending on your printer, we set up whichever method suits how you plan to use it. Scan-to-email sends a scanned document straight to an email address of your choosing, which is handy for sending paperwork to a family member or an office. Scan-to-folder saves it directly onto your computer, which works well if you are building up a folder of documents to keep or print again later.
