Getting connected and signed in

Before anything else, the TV or Roku needs to join your home Wi-Fi, which usually means typing a long password using an on-screen keyboard and a remote that was not built for typing. We handle that part, then sign you into Netflix, Amazon, YouTube TV, or whatever services you already pay for, so everything is ready the first time you turn it on.

If you are replacing an old TV, we also check whether your existing streaming logins still work or if a password reset is needed first, so we are not guessing account details in front of the screen.

Making the remote and home screen make sense

Most smart TVs and Roku devices ship with a home screen full of apps you will never open, and a remote with buttons that do not do what the picture on them suggests. We remove the clutter, arrange your actual channels and streaming services front and center, and show you the two or three buttons you will really use.

  • Unused apps and ads removed from the home screen
  • Your regular channels and services arranged up front
  • One remote that controls power and volume for everything, when possible

Captions, sound, and picture settings

A lot of TVs come out of the box with settings meant to look good in a bright store, not comfortable in a living room: overly sharp motion smoothing, dialogue that is hard to hear under music, or captions buried in a menu nobody finds. We adjust the picture to look natural, turn on captions if you want them, and fix sound settings so dialogue is easy to follow.
