Getting it connected the right way

The Fire Stick needs your home Wi-Fi password typed in correctly using the little remote, which is fiddly at best, and it needs an Amazon account signed in before anything will actually play. We handle both, and if you do not already have an Amazon account or have forgotten the password to one, we sort that out too before we move on to anything else.

We also check that the Fire Stick has a strong enough Wi-Fi signal where your television actually sits, since a weak signal in that one room is what causes shows to freeze or buffer partway through, long after the setup itself looked fine.

Adding the apps you actually watch

A brand new Fire Stick comes loaded with suggestions for services you may not use and missing the ones you do. We install the streaming apps you actually watch, whether that is Netflix, Prime Video, a local news app, or something more specific, and sign each one in with your existing account so you are not starting from scratch on any of them.

  • Wi-Fi connected and signal checked at the television
  • Amazon account created or signed in
  • Your streaming apps installed and signed in
  • Captions turned on if you would like them

A remote and home screen that make sense

The Fire Stick remote has more buttons than most people need, and the home screen can be rearranged so your favorite apps sit right at the top instead of buried in a row you have to scroll to find. We simplify both during the visit, and if captions or larger on-screen text would help, we turn those on too.

A patient, hands-on lesson

Once everything works, we sit with you and go over how to switch between apps, search for a show by voice, and turn the television on and off using the remote, since that alone confuses plenty of new Fire Stick owners. Call (615) 852-5565 Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM to schedule a visit.
